Established in 1973 the Top of the World Provincial Park is one of the highlights of any East Kootenay visit and a hidden gem among BC’s Provincial Park systems. Top of the World is located high in the alpine of the Rocky Mountain region of southeastern British Columbia. This is an area of great beauty, surrounded by the peaks of the Hughes Range and the Van Nostrand Range, with Mount Morro being the highest peak in the park at 2,912 m.

The park’s main campground is Fish Lake, which sits at about 1768m elevation and is about a 7 km or 2-3 hr. hike from the parking lot. From Fish Lake the options are endless. Make it a multi-day adventure starting with a day of camping at Fish Lake followed by a hike and overnight stay at Coyote Creek, or a more challenging hike to Sugarloaf Mountain, Sparkle Lake, or Wildhorse Ridge. From the easily accessible, central camp of Fish Lake, whichever direction you choose to explore in Top of the World Provincial Park will provide stunning 360 degree views, mountain meadows and alpine lakes.

Our guides are ACMG accredited and fully trained in Wilderness First Aid. BCA Tours will assist you in preparations, ensuring you have adequate equipment and will take care of all the logistics involving transportation, camping and park fees.
